Fallon Snow and Bird Studies
It was wonderfully stormy the third
week of February and we woke up to a blanket of snow.
I was out by 7 to catch the light and patterns
before it all started to melt.
The patterns on the sagebrush
and other desert plants is so interesting.
Excellent colors on last year's leaves.
I have Cornell's bird ID app on my phone
and keep track of all the birds I see in my travels.
I've been inspired to go a step further
and draw a study of them,
those that are new to me.
One of the nuthatch birds cut out for this business card
And the black phoebe was my other focus
this week. Both of these birds are tiny,
yet feisty and territorial.
