Marlette Lake Tahoe Hiking In June

This season, hiking to Marlette was a bit different than
previous years for us due to the current world issues.
Fresh carvings on the trees by people with
nothing much to do these days when things
are trying to get back to normal.

Lots more people on the trail, especially biking.
Watch yourself for the 25+ mph mountain bikes coming
down the rocky dirt road!
It must feel great though after the steep arduous ride/hike up
to just let go as fast as you can coming down.
Everyone is super nice with trail etiquette
and wishes for a good day.

And they were stocking the lake, which I didn't realize they did.
They made several trips back and forth to release the fish
while we were having our lunch on the rocks.

This little cabin is called Spencer's Cabin and was where
a caretaker lived for a time.  You can take a break from the trail
and look inside of it.

We've seen quite a few bears on our trips to Lake Tahoe, but not in
the Spooner area.  This tree had several claw marks going up the trunk.
I like the eyes in the aspen trees.  Someone's always watching . . .

Lots of wildflowers blooming and this one was my favorite.
I haven't seen the variety before and it grows in water so I was
able to get some glistening water bokeh effect in the background.
