Autumn Plants, Sketches, and Photos

On a hike near Yerington, NV over the weekend I noticed all the different

desert plants we walked by. 

I liked the textures and colors.  This plant is a really pretty pink mauve in spring. 

I liked the shape of the leaves on this plant.  

I took my sketchbook out to my garden and sketched the variety of plants growing now.

Even the plants I'd call weeds in spring were interesting to me.  Prickly seed heads and 

foxtail glowing in the sun.  Cosmos and snapdragons still braving the cold.
