American White Pelicans at Lake Lahontan

Sketching at Lake Lahontan Silver Springs side on Sunday.  The water level is up.  Patches of new trees growing in areas and several American White Pelicans floating among them.  

Pretty quiet day at the beach and the clouds were great.  Just a slight breeze. 

I got out my paints and sketched the pelicans with lots of phthalo blue, it packs a punch.

Different view of the lake with purple mountains and I added my own foliage.  I like to dress up the desert a bit. 

My expression of the little trees on the beach.  This was my first sketch of the day getting my paints wet.  Spent a nice afternoon at the lake.
