Carnelian Bay Plein Air Painting

Plein air painting at Carnelian Bay on a Saturday.
Very cold morning, even at 10 when I arrived.
Thankfully the boat shack had a small coffee shop inside.
Someone made these artful piles of cones and rocks on the
end of the picnic tables.

Even in the frigid water these two headed out for a ride.
The beach was very quiet until just about eleven
when the morning mist started to fade.

I tucked myself in some trees and sat on rocks
to sketch and this mama duck floated up to say hi
and let me take a few photos of her.
The water is so beautifully clear.

A Father's Day card with one of my sketches.
This is a view of the beach at Tahoe City
where I went after lunch at the Fire Sign Cafe.
I had hot tea and their Fire Sign Rhonda sandwich
(recommended)

This is a view from Carnelian Bay where lots of cabins
are tucked in the trees.
The patches of snow are starting to recede.
