Journal Pages, Creative Inspiration, Planting Seeds

Sometimes I'm uninspired and need to
just pause what I'm trying to do. Take a break.
I've been keeping journals for many years.
I have several going at once.
I get them out and go back to page one.
I read, reflect, laugh, and add more stuff.
I get out my pencils, markers, crayons, stickers -
just like in elementary school.
Be a kid. Create. Who cares what it looks like.
It's a blast.

This is a handmade journal given to me by a friend.
I love it for the different pages and papers she put in it.
I add my own things.
A sketch here and there. Notes. Stickers.
If you buy Yogi tea, they have some wise
words on the tea bag labels.
I attach those I like with decorative washi tape.

Maybe it is this time of year - very early spring
when things are still a bit slow, the weather is
cool and unpredictable, and nature is quiet.
I started one of my journals in 2008 -
and liked the chrysanthemum sketch so maybe I will scan it
and put it on a greeting card.

This journal has just a few pages left so I have
a goal to finish it this year.  My first entry in it is dated
August 2009.
I filled it with stickers, pages from magazines -
I used love to buy them and cut them up
(Victoria, Country Living, Country Home)
That makes them really interesting to look at now
since things are so very digital.

Now it is fun to go Etsy and buy scrap packs,
tea dyed paper, vintage papers, ephemera sets, stickers
to embellish a blank journal.
Just search journal supplies and you'll be inspired.

I keep track of new books I'd like to read and
inspirational, funny, or pithy quotes that speak to me.
I'm reading Elin Hilderbrand's 28 Summers
and the main character likes to read so throughout the book
she talks about different novels.
Now I have a list of books I'd like to read.
