Desert Odd, Silver Fox, and Icicles

I joined a "sketch a day" app which gives a

one word prompt for something to sketch each day.

This sketch was for "odd" and I was inspired

by the shoe tree on Highway 50.

This sketch prompt was "sleep"

inspired by the landscape at Kings Canyon.

Nature sleeps but some eyes are open.

Sketch prompt for "melt"

inspired by the high desert at Austin

one year after some nice storms came through.

Sketch prompt for "silver"

and I learned about the silver fox for this one.

What a beautiful animal. I love black fur.

I love seeing what other artists come

up with for each prompt

but I really like learning about new things.

I joined the app back in September

and one of the prompts was "Sweden"

and I learned about Fika.

More than just a coffee break,

but a ritual to pause, socialize, and relax

with others over coffee or tea.

To enjoy life's simple pleasures.
