Virginia City Comstock Pinyon Pine

The docents were in costume when we visited
Virginia City Sunday.
I love when they are out and about in
their western wear and allow photos.

I should've gotten this delightful man's name
because he was so helpful with suggestions of
where to eat and is just a happy person.

And the city's critter was out and about walking
getting snacks, friendly pats, and was the focus of many photos and films.
The kids loved her.

We got to tour the Tahoe House Hotel and it was lovely.
Very romantic atmosphere and wonderful rooms.
The hotel dates back to 1859 and it's said
President Grant (my favorite president) spent some time there.
The building has really been well cared for.

Walking down C street I saw this pinyon pine
in a vacant lot that looks down on a neighborhood and into the
seven-mile canyon vista beyond.  I really like how
the branches twist and tangle, the tufts of needles
growing here and there.  They just look tough.

You can see details of the Comstock Pinyon painting in my
Fine Art America shop.

If you visit and like coffee definitely stop in to the
and take your coffee and snack out to the
deck to look out and enjoy the seven-mile desert vista.
