Marlette Lake Hike and New Book

Last weekend my husband and I hiked to Marlette Lake and it was a beautiful day for it.

The aspens were beginning to turn and in the valleys there were layers of trees in different colors.  The road was decorated the whole way with beautiful trees.

We started earlier in the morning around nine thirty and got there around lunch time.  Had lunch on the big rocks near the lake.  There are several little hideaways where people can sit and enjoy the quiet and sunshine.
I've been working on my new book for 2012 and published it this morning through blurb and I'm really excited about it, anxious to get it in the mail!

Halloween Drawings and Spider Fabric

I felt like sketching some Halloween monsters and creepy things this week.  I don't do drawings like this much, but I really liked it so think I will do more.  Great for brainstorming and design ideas.

Not sure where this idea came from.  I knew I wanted to do something with pumpkins and  started drawing and this came to be.

I've been working on a "creepy crawlies" themed fabric for the Spoonflower contest next week.  I drew the spiders while watching the Hunger Games with my daughter and was inspired by the crazy bright colors of the "Capitol People".
