Illustration Friday - Pattern

Quilts have great patterns. I love quilts as long as someone else makes them... I like to paint them sometimes.

Illustration Friday - Infinite

Being a nature person I enjoy the infinite colors nature produces in any given thing. The colors of different things reflect on each other to create new colors in different times of the day. I like how Monet seemed to have enjoyed this aspect as sometimes he painted the same thing over and over at different times of day using so many different colors, the haystacks.

Zinnia and Romas

After lunch I went out to the garden to see what was new. Lots of zinnias coming up right now. They are all very tall, but not very full. Not sure why. I've given them natural fertilizer and they are watered adequately. I saw my green roma tomatoes peeking out around the foliage and thought it looked neat so I was inspired.

Silver Spoon from the Desert

My husband found this silver spoon in the desert. Even though it has probably been trampled upon, ran over and weather beaten over the years I still thought it had a lot of character. Lots of great scrolls along the handle and an almost worn off engraved "H" at the top of the handle. People used to monogram or engrave their silver routinely it seems by what we see in the desert. We saw a knife engraved to "Uncle Emil" once. Neat.

I had fun with these petunias exaggerating their frilliness and colors, I think it suits them. These flowers are in continual bloom all season long until the first hard freeze and I love them for that.
