Balsam and Fallen Leaf

On our recent camping trip to Fallen Leaf Lake Campground near South Lake Tahoe the Balsam was blooming everywhere along with Forget-Me-Nots and others I need to learn the names of. Lots of nice big pinecones were on the ground too making a great scene of color and texture.

Humble Flowers

This morning I went out to the garden to draw a flower and I ended up choosing the most humble flower in the garden, may even be considered a weed. Not sure. I really liked the shape of the leaves and the tiniest little white flowers. I found myself really drawing the leaves dark to try and show the little white flowers better. Great practice because I usually am timid with drawing tools, what if I make a mistake and ruin it... have gotten more daring over the past year though and said mistakes are okay and sometimes really good - lead to even better things.

Moraine Trail Lake Tahoe

We went camping in Lake Tahoe at the Fallen Leaf Campground. It was cold and rained on us a little, but we didn't mind. Summer rains are fairly quick and the clouds are so fluffy and white in the sky. We took a hike on the Moraine Trail on Saturday morning. Great way to wake up. We followed the path along the Fallen Leaf lake and this was one of the views. The lake was very choppy which created a great variety of blues.

Dress Form and Flowers

I was playing in photoshop with some of my watercolor work and came up with a very flowery print. I have been inspired by dress forms lately seeing them in Romantic Homes magazine and other home decor books/magazines. I think the antique wire dress forms are really neat.

South Lake Tahoe Sail Boat

Over Memorial Day weekend we went to South Lake Tahoe, Emerald Beach area and played in the sand for a while. It was beautiful with sailboats here and there. I love Lake Tahoe and really appreciate how everyone tries really hard to keep it blue and the land clean of trash. Nice to see.
